Since 1951
It all begins with a man. A man driven by boldness, precision, and a fierce will to undertake: Jean Escharavil.
In 1951, in a small workshop in Ardèche, he decided to transform the family heritage — a workshop created in 1887 by his grandfather — into an industrial adventure. With his brother Émile, he started manufacturing scales and created a brand that would soon become synonymous with excellence and innovation: PRECIA.
Year after year, the company grew, guided by three unchanging pillars: quality, mastery of know-how, and listening to customer needs.
A pioneering vision, a constant evolution
The story of PRECIA MOLEN is that of a company that has never stopped evolving. In 1968, it moved from mechanics to electronics, anticipating a major turning point in the industry. In 1985, it went public in Lyon: a decisive step that confirmed its ambition.
The following decades marked a remarkable international expansion:
1993: acquisition of MOLEN (Netherlands, founded in 1867) and YERNAUX (France) — giving birth to the name PRECIA MOLEN. 1997: unification of the service within PRECIA MOLEN SERVICES, symbolizing the priority given to customer support. 2007 to today: a series of strategic acquisitions in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, New Zealand… these are all territories conquered thanks to recognized expertise and a desire to be everywhere, close to the needs.
75 years of commitment, a future built every day.
Today, PRECIA MOLEN is much more than a weighing company. It is an international team of women and men who perpetuate the spirit of Jean Escharavil: innovate without giving up reliability, develop without losing sight of sustainability, be present wherever precision is essential. With its weighing, dosing, and industrial process solutions, its local services, and its adaptability, PRECIA MOLEN continues to write a story made of performance, trust, and vision.
